Light Patterns: LINK-MICRO Series

THE FOLLOWING ARE NORMAL LIGHT PATTERNS THAT OCCUR DURING A PROCESS.

Power ON + Signal Strength

The normal power ON sequence of the status light is as follows:

  • Red-orange-green: powering ON.
  • Red-orange-green: powering ON.
  • Blinking green: your camera is searching for signal. This can take up to 5 minutes.
  • Steady green, orange or red for 30 seconds: your camera has found signal. The color depends on the signal strength in your area.
  • All lights turn off: your camera is ready to capture a photo.

Once signal is found, the status light will remain a steady color.

  • Green: good signal.
  • Orange: fair signal.
  • Red: poor signal.

Check out this article and video for more information on how to optimize signal strength.

Taking and transmitting a photo

Here is the sequence your status light will follow when capturing and transmitting a photo:

  • Normal power ON sequence: camera is getting ready.
  • All lights are off: ready to capture a photo.
  • Steady green: capturing a photo.
  • Steady orange: transmitting a photo.
  • All lights turn off: ready to capture another photo.
Firmware Updating (DO NOT power the camera OFF)

Here is the sequence to expect from your status light during a firmware update:

  • Red-orange-green: powering ON.
  • Red-orange-green: powering ON.
  • Blinking green: searching for signal.
  • Blinking orange every 0.10 seconds: firmware updating.
  • All lights turn off: camera is restarting.
  • Red-orange-green: powering ON.
  • Red-orange-green: powering ON.
  • All lights turn off: ready to capture a photo.

*Important note: your camera must never be powered OFF during a firmware update. Always ensure to have full battery life when updating your firmware.

Check out this video for more information on how to update your firmware.

THE FOLLOWING LIGHT PATTERNS INDICATE AN ISSUE THAT WILL REQUIRE AN INTERVENTION.

Low Battery

If your camera has low battery, the status light will go through the following sequence:

  • Red-orange-green: powering ON.
  • Red-orange-green: powering ON.
  • Blinking orange (rather than go steady): low battery indicator.

How to resolve the issue:You may try charging the Lit-10 battery pack or insert 8 new AA non-rechargeable Lithium or Alkaline batteries to resolve this issue. Make sure you have selected the correct battery setting in your SPYPOINT app.

Note: The first time you use your LINK-MICRO or LINK-MICRO-LTE with a LIT-10 you will have the low battery pattern. This is normal. You will need to change the battery setting in the app and then wait for the camera to communicate for the update to go through. The LINK-MICRO-S-LTE is automatically set to LIT-10, as it is required for this model.

Very low or dead batteries

Straight to blinking red at power ON: very low or dead batteries.

If the status light starts blinking red right away without going through the standard power ON sequence, then your camera is indicating that the batteries are either very low or dead. The red blinking can sometimes be faint.

SIM card issue

If your camera is having a SIM card issue, the status light will go through the following sequence:

  • Red-orange-green: powering ON.
  • Red-orange-green: powering ON.
  • Blinking green: searching for signal. Roughly 20 seconds.
  • Blinking red status and delay light: SIM card issue detected.

The issue could be caused by your SIM card being incorrectly inserted, damaged or defective. It could also indicate a modem error. For this case, you need to contact our customer support team for us to fix the issue or take necessary steps.

Note: do not remove the SIM card, unless a technical expert ask you otherwise.

DSP failure

Your camera has experienced a DSP failure if the status light goes through the following sequence:

  • Red-orange-green: powering ON.
  • Red-orange-green: powering ON.
  • Slow blinking green (every 3-4 seconds): DSP failure.

This means that the camera was powered OFF during a firmware update. You will need to contact our customer support team for further assistance.

Orange lockup

Your camera is experiencing orange lockup if it goes through the following sequence when taking a and transmitting a photo:

  • Normal power ON sequence: camera is getting ready.
  • All lights are off: ready to capture a photo.
  • Steady green: capturing a photo.
  • Steady orange does not turn off for more than 5 minutes while transmitting a photo.
  • Status light does not turn off: not going back to ready for capture mode.

If you have not received a photo after 5 minutes and the status light continues to remain steady orange, we recommend updating your firmware by following the steps in this video.
